Lily the average new girl at school discovers an old diary containing ivys deepest darkest secrets. The more she reads the more she becomes lured into ivys world of seductions and powerplays.
The film is known as one of lead actress Alyssa Milano’s attempts to break her child star image. She appeared in several soft erotic films, including Poison Ivy II. When this sequel was in production, Milano was cast because of her ‘recognition factor’. Director Anne Goursaud worked previously with Milano on Embrace of the Vampire (1994), and they worried Poison Ivy II wouldn’t be as daring as that film. They decided to go into another direction, not using Milano as the primary sex symbol in the film.
After the release, it was mostly promoted for the sex scenes featuring Alyssa Milano

Young Alyssa Milano

– “Actors are an insecure breed. It’s hard to have your career depend upon other people’s opinions of what you do. “

– “I feel a lot healthier when I’m having sex. Physically. I feel all these jitters when I wake up in the morning. Just energy jitters. I take vitamins, I work out every day. When I’m having sex, I don’t have that. “

– “I think we’re in a time when everyone’s afraid to have sex. But I was raised being beautiful and healthy.”

– “It’s nice to be important, but it’s important to always be nice.”

Moments after meeting the perfect guy for her, Jesse meets Mr. Perfect— Troy (Michael Landes, Possession), a confident and successful advertising executive who makes almost every moment elegant and romantic. Soon Jesse is in over her head and grappling with the ultimate romantic paradox: what does a girl do when she meets “Mr. Right”… after already meeting the right guy?

Ultimately, what Jesse discovers about love reflects what the audience discovers about the story itself: Things are not always what they seem. My Girlfriend’s Boyfriend is a classic love story turned upside down, a romantic comedy that blends a warm sincerity with fresh, stylized storytelling and some very big surprises.
